Limits
These limits apply during the pilot. They will change as the service grows.
Repository size
Section titled “Repository size”| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Files read | 500 |
| Total size read | 5 MB |
| Size of one file | 200 KB |
| Entries in the file tree | 10,000 |
| Time for the repository read | 60 seconds |
Large repositories are read in part
Section titled “Large repositories are read in part”A repository above the file or size limit is still assessed. Files closest to the root are read first, and files beyond the limit are skipped.
When that happens, the result says how many files were not read. Checks that depend on unread files may be incomplete, and coverage is reduced.
Two limits stop the assessment instead:
- More than 10,000 entries in the file tree. The repository is too large for the pilot.
- The read takes longer than 60 seconds. Try again, or choose a smaller repository.
GitHub connection
Section titled “GitHub connection”| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Installations per account | 100 |
| Repositories per installation | 100 |
Assessments
Section titled “Assessments”- A workspace can have up to 5 repository reads waiting or running at once. When the queue is full, wait for one to finish.
- The temporary copy of the source that an assessment reads from expires after 15 minutes. If you confirm the purpose after that, the source is read again automatically.
Sign-in and sessions
Section titled “Sign-in and sessions”| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Session length | 4 hours |
| Email sign-in link | Valid for 10 minutes, in the browser that requested it |
| Email sign-in requests | 3 per address in 15 minutes |
Request limits
Section titled “Request limits”Requests are limited per address and per session. If you see Too many requests, wait a minute and try again.
If GitHub limits requests from the pilot, you will see GitHub is rate limiting this pilot. Try again in a few minutes.
